Primary Area of Expertise: Road Safety, drivers’ behavior, vulnerable road users’ safety, HazMat, crash scene management, safe and sustainable mobility and safety application of Intelligent Transportation Systems.
Ali has a Master’s degree in transportation from the University of Tehran. He is a road safety expert with more than 15 years of experience and his primary area of expertise include crash and speed data analysis, design and delivering various road safety training courses (DDT, Children, Managers), running public awareness campaigns and conducting research projects.
He’s written more than 50 papers as a researcher and conducted various projects with a focus on his primary areas of expertise.
His presentation skills are outstanding and has delivered variety of workshops, papers and trainings in Iran, Nigeria, Qatar, Tunisia, Uzbekistan, Australia and India.
He’s received 3 awards for his educational and campaigning efforts from ISMA (International Safety Media Awards) in 2016 and 2018, and 2021.
As team leader he’s managed the Establishment of Khorasan Province Crash Database project from 2017 and he’s led the WHO funded National Speed Management project at provincial level since 2019.
He’s also served as supervisor in “Mashhad Highways Road Safety Audit” (2017-18) and “Road Safety Performance Indicators Data Collection and Analysis” (2019-20) projects for Mashhad Municipality and Iranian Road Ministry.
Since April 2021 he’s an Accredited Road Safety Auditor to assess the safety of schools using iRAP’s Star Rating for Schools method
Ali is based in Iran and is fluent in Arabic and English.
